Fabric has taken over my home.
I have not written in a while but I had a busy week and now bring you many updates. Best of all is I purchased half the favpbric we will need for the December due date. There was a giant sale at Joans 60% off some fleece. So using a loan from my parents that I must pay back I filled my cart with fleece and got 25 1 yard fleece blankets waiting in my house to be cut. We were about to purchase the other 25 blankets we needed but the extremely nice lady cutting all that fabric told us we would receive a 30% off coupon because we spent so much and the fabric would stay on sale until next week so tomorrow we will purchase the other 25 2 yard blankets we need. I also received the free coupon card to try out and I am close to deciding whether I will use them to fundraise. We also have received or first donations from my mothers dentist nurses that gave a total of $31 and I will be writing thank you notes and calling them soon. That's all for now, bye

We Have a Deadline!
My call was finally returned today by a local foster care system that I contacted about donating. The nice woman told me they have a christmas party in December that adult's and children come to. So by December 25th I must make 25 youth blankets and 25 teen blankets. Today I will be contacting some fabric companies requesting donations. I also have found a fundraising company I can purchase coupon cards and sell them to raise funds. I have a free card coming in the mail to see if it's worth selling. I would never sell something that is a scam because I know I would hate it. Another way I'm going to raise money is place donation cups at the checkouts of local stores and cafes but I have to talk to the owners. Luckily I live in a friendly neighborhood and we are friends with many of the owners. So my journey continues into the jungle that is fundraising.

Introduction
Hello, I would like to explain who I am. My name is Shanna and I run a Non-Profit charity called The Wishing blanket. I make fringe fleece blankets for kids who are orphans and in the foster care system. I hope to be posting at least once a week updating my journey into creating a charity from scratch. I am awaiting the call from a local adoption center that might distribute the blankets to the children. I am also looking into fundraising options through selling coupon cards. I finished the boy and girl blanket prototypes. I am also looking into fabric companies that might donate fabric. To make one blanket it takes 2 yards of fabric which costs 12-14 dollars. I will soon be posting pictures of the blankets, more information about why I started The Wishing Blanket, how I came up with the name and more updates on how we are progressing.
